The Advanced Lifter is an ambitious app designed to support a very wide range of workouts: everything from cardio to body weight exercises to dumbbells at home to body building to competitive power lifting. Unlike most apps it is centered around the idea of a *program* which is essentially a set of workouts put together by an expert which include automatic progression according to how well you perform each exercise.
There are currently 25 built-in programs and 235 exercises. With an in-app purchase you can edit the built-in programs or design your own program. The app supports a *lot* of different options for different types of exercises, to progress between different versions of an exercise, and to vary volume/intensity to manage recovery times. Each exercise includes a short user-editable description along with a link to more information or a video.
Lots of configuration options are also supported: you can tell the app which plates you want to use for a particular exercise, whether you have micro-plates, how heavy the barbell or collars are, how long to rest for each exercise, and whether you want to deactivate an exercise within a workout.
